We have stayed at a number of hotels in Marrakech but this one we will definitely stay at again. The staff are friendly, the place was clean and our apartment was large and airy. There was a fridge, hotplate and all utensils if you wanted to cook for yourself. The bedroom was a reasonable size with a comfortable bed. How people can complain about the breakfast is beyond me. It was more than enough (large bread roll, butter, egg, cheese, jam, croissant, pan aux chocolat, orange juice and coffee. In fact I could not eat all of it. Some people expect extensive continental AND cooked English wherever they go. The Hotel restaurant serves a variety of food all at very reasonable prices and cooked beautifully.

Had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Our room had a balcony and separate living room which made a huge difference. We didn't feel as enclosed when your only in one room. Only downside was the hot plate wasn't working so we couldnt make our morning morrocan mint tea but the restaurant downstairs supplied tea so no drama. For value you can't really get any better.

i have been to many hotels in marrakesh, this was the best, undoubtedly the staff, the cleaners, and everything, i would deffo use it over n over again, this hotels based in Gueliz, the modern city, always used the local bus to get around, loads to do nearby, i got this as a room only, i knew where and what i was doing,

I stayed at Assounfou from the 7th - 12th July with my son (22 years) and daughter (16 years). We had a very pleasant stay. Two particular receptionists Hamza & Tami were extremely helpful and made our stay there much better. Both were patient with us and gave us advice of where to visit, taxi fares ranges, printed our boarding passes etc. The other receptionist called Leila was not friendly and seemed as if she was getting irritated by my questions. So in the end I just waited for when Hamza or Tami came on duty.Our hotel room was a lovely size. Spacious living room, little fridge , one plate stove (we didn't cook anything on it) nice sized shower & toilet and bedroom with three medium sized beds. The cleaner called Halima was so lovely and she communicated to us is Arabic and we spoke to her in basic English but somehow we chatted to each other and enjoyed our chats. We didn't say goodbye to her because she was off duty when we left. The so called continental breakfast was not great at all. No variety just two croissants, egg, some big bun, orange juice or tea. The restaurant staff were initially quite rude then got much better as the time went on....maybe language barrier at the beginning. There was a small pool in the back but we didn't use it but saw other people in there enjoying themselves. Assounfou is closley situated to the Carre Eden shopping centre, lots of ATMs around and places to eat out and change our money.....very cheap holiday for us since the GBP is very powerful against the local currency (Dirham). Be careful of taxi firms they will rip you off though! I would stay at Assounfou again because the positives outweigh the negatives.
